MIMO Process Control Trainer

Description

The Multi Input Multi Output (MIMO) process trainer is a compact, efficient setup designed to understand multi loop simultaneous control. The setup can be operated to perform different set of experiments namely, temperature control, flow control, MIMO control, cascade control, feed forward control, feed forward + feedback control, etc. It consists of a pipeline fitted with orifice as flow device and a differential pressure transmitter calibrated to measure flow, heater tank, Solid State Relay for heater voltage control, rotameters for flow measurement, I/P converter and control valve for flow manipulation. Temperature transmitter senses temperatures of outlet water and transmits signals. These units along with necessary piping and fitting are mounted in support housing designed as table top model. ACE 2007 wireless data acquisition system is used as an interfacing unit to interface the system with PC / laptop. The process parameters are controlled through
computer by manipulating cold water flow to the heat exchanger through pneumatic control valve and varying supply voltage to the heater through SSR.
